Christopher Pike/Boxed Set No. 1/Witch/See You Later/Die Softly/Fall into Darkness

Complimentary Stories in One Book
Christopher Pike, one of the best adult and young adult novelists, is now compiling his best stories into box sets. These are good for those of us who really enjoy all of his stories. When he chooses the four books to put into these sets together, he looks for books that compliment each other.

Witch, one of Pike's earlier books, adds the supernatural aspect to the set. A masterpiece alone, Witch involves secret powers, ponds that show the future, and a love that cannot die.

See You Later is the science fiction book of the set. Lovers that fall in love throughout several different lives find each other every time. A timeless story of love and powerful twists in plot.

Die Softly is the demented mystery with a very twisted plot. Girls who are drug adicts, boys taking pictures of girls in the locker rooms, murder: this book has it all, and it adds all of it to the book set.

And Fall into Darkness, again, has a twisted plot. Two brothers, one dead girlfriend, and another live one looking for the true killer. This book was made into a made for TV movie. It adds suspense to the book set.

Overall, these four books are four of Pike's best. They are all earlier books of his that show his true, raw writing style. He can turn a book out from any sense of style.

Great Compilation of Chris's Books!
This compilation contains some of the most dramatic books Pike has ever written. Personally, I would have to say that See You Later is my favorite, but Witch, Die Softly, and Fall Into Darkness are all equally alluring. These books share the common characteristic of leaving you with so many thoughts inside your head after you finish them. Buy this collection and pleaase meet Kara and Vincent. They are the greatest!

Creepy Creature

The best spooksville.
I regard this novel as the best Spooksville i have read. I greatly recommend it. I was touched by Adam's love for Olos and Cindy and Bryce's relationship and the gang's bravery and sympathy for all the races like the Piths. Although it seems a bit of nonsense when you read the back of the book, it is indeed greatly complicated and interesting and nothing is as it seems. I nearly wept in the end.

It is a good book and it has a lot of action
Adam and his friends are being watched by the blobs There eating kids in Spooksville. It's already eaten Watch. Adam and his friends must destroy them before its to late. Anyone can be a blob monster, even you.

Engulfed: A Photographic Celebration of People, Places and Fish Around the Gulf Coast

Authors: David J. Sams and Doug Pike

I Wish I was There!
This book does indeed engulf one in the splendors of the Gulf Coast. Sams' photographs transport you to the water. I could feel the spray and sea on my face-better I could smell the salt air and I longed to be there. This is the best gift I've ever given. My gift recipient complained that because it is so pretty, he went through it too fast! I highly recommend this book as one of the foremost coffeetable books in my collection! Jill Bertolet

I Was Engulfed!
I ordered my copy of this book direct from David J. Sams and spoke with him on the phone about this book before I bought it. I was familiar with the works of David J. Sams from his photographs in "Flyfishing the Texas Coast: Back Country Flats to Blue Water" by Chuck Scates and Phil H. Brown. As an avid angler fishing the Texas Gulf Coast almost every weekend and a lifetime of traveling the Gulf Coast from Texas to Biloxi Mississippi to Panama City Beach Florida, this book brings back vivid memories of the beauty of the coast. The brillant colors and composition of David's photographs engulf your visual senses creating longings to return to the coast. Photographs of the people, places, and activities of those who reside along the coast bring back memories of some of the more interesting people I have met in my life. The warm, relaxed lifestyle of the Gulf Coast has allowed the creation of a breed of characters not found anywhere else in the US. Whether your passion with the Gulf Coast is fishing, kayaking, sailing, or just sunning yourself, you will find memories captured through the camera lens by David J. Sams. Every picture is bright and vivid. Your dreams will only be limited by your imagination as you view the photos in this book.

i think this book rocks but is also sad.
I think that when the gang gets trapped in the evil house it is really cool but it gets sad at the end when the magnificent Marvin has to get reunited with his ghost. Marvin is just a lonley and scared little boy that wants to go home.

Cool man!!!
This book rocks! The gang head into Spooksville's most hunted house, only to find a strange dimention set up like an old faisoned circus, which they get stuck in. Suddenly, they become the things they dressed up as for Hallowen. Sally and Bruce, vampires. Cindy, a fairy. Adam, a ghost, and Watch as Sherlok Homes.

Insight Guide Australia (Australia, 5th Ed)
Published in Paperback by Insight Guides (May, 2002)
Authors: Jeffrey Pike and Jeffery Pike
Average review score:

The best all-around book I have found.
I researched Australia for over a year prior to my April 2002 visit there, and I read as many guides and books as I could find. While in Australia I purchased a local behemoth encycledia of the country, thinking that was as good as it gets.

I found the Insight Guide at my local library after I returned, and I am convinced this is THE single book anyone with more than a passing interest in Australia should buy.

The very heavy paper presents the beautiful color pictures in high resolution, and the articles are written in a complete yet entertaining style. Australian artwork highlights the history section. The sites of interest descriptions are entertaining and concise. I actually did not read the last section (travel tips)in depth since I had already returned from my vacation, but even without that section the book would be a great read.

This is NOT the book to carry with you on your vacation - there are plenty of other lighter guides that have more useful trivia like hotels and restaurants. This is the book to read and enjoy before you leave home. It is an excellent overall introduction to the country.

My daughter is beginning to study Australia in her 2nd grade class - I have ordered a copy to let her take to school.

I highly recommend this book. At the very least, check it out of your library to look at the pictures.

A wonderful book show me a beautiful Australia.
A wonderful book show me a beautiful Australia.
I like all of Insight Guide, and this is the best one.
I like Australia,I want living there

Mute Witness
Published in Hardcover by Doubleday (June, 1963)
Author: Robert L. Pike
Average review score:

Great police murder mystery
Mute Witness is a great book that keeps the reader going throughout. It tells the story of a Mafia man who is willing to testify before a commision in New York and is placed under the protection of the police until the trial. After he is shot, the police must sift through the evidence to try and figure out what is going on. Lieutenant Clancy and Doc Freeman try to find out what happened with the support of Stanton and Kaproski, two other officers in the same precinct. This is a great story with plenty of twists and turns that will keep you guessing until the end. The movie Bullitt was based on this book and should not be missed if you like the book or the other way around. An excellent story that is worth the search of finding the out of print book!

Mute Witness, Bullit
This is a great bok my dad got for his fifteenth birthday. Its so tight. Its about this guy who is in mafia protection or whatever and he and the man who is watching him gets shot. They made an excellent movie of this called Bullit I know the book is alot to buy but just get it from the library, but at all costs read it.!!!

GREATEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is the first book I've read and it was the best book I've read in my entire life!Cindy turns into a vampire, and Watch almost did too. I only need 10 more books to complete my collection.

Scary!
Wow! This is an impressive book! When the Vampire Queen comes to Springville, alias Spooksville, Adam, Cindy, Watch, Bruce and Sally realise that they are in Deep Trouble. It's a fantastic book. Don't miss it!

Great thinking!
Christopher's way of thinking up twisting ends amazes me! I love mystreys where the least expected is the one who did the crime but this is equally good. Watch really came through this time and to think he outsmarted the internet! The book was very stretchy about the part in the house. It seemed to go on forever even though it was just a week. I knew Savannah Stranger had something to do with it because she seemed anxious to get away and I don't think she was going just because of her brother! I give thy 2 words: BUY IT!

Seems best of all Spooksville books!
This book is totally awesome! The synopsis is enough to explain it. I have all of Christopher Pike's other Spooksville books, and I'm overexcited of waiting. I waited four months for Night of the Vampire, number 19. I feel I'll instantly read this book when I get it, stopping my "schedule" of all my other unfinished, still reading or still re-reading, books. I feel excited everytime I get these books. The author's first name, or should I say, the first part of his pen name, is the same as mine. Even if Amazon rates the age range 9-12, it should be higher. I'm thirteen, and they're still great.
